The Premise
The village of Harrowgrave has not heard birdsong in eleven days. The crops blackened overnight. The well water turned to something that stains the hands of anyone who draws it. And the bell in the chapel tower — the one that hasn’t rung in forty years — has started tolling at dusk, though no one climbs the stairs.
You arrive as outsiders, summoned by a letter written in a hand that does not match the name it claims. The village elder speaks of a debt older than the foundations. The priest hasn’t left the vestry in three days. The children have started drawing the same symbol in the mud — a circle, broken, with something coiled inside.
The Black Bell was cast during a war no one remembers, forged with iron the smiths refuse to name. They say it was silenced for a reason. They say what it summons cannot be unheard. Whatever bargain was struck to quiet it has finally come due, and the price is not what anyone expected.

About the GM
Your Game Master
Over a decade behind the screen, most of it spent in the darker corners of the hobby. I run grimdark not because it’s edgy — but because moral weight, atmosphere, and consequence make the best stories. Every one-shot I write is authored, not improvised. Pacing, tone, and table safety are non-negotiable.
